Weight loss has become a target goal for people who wish to maintain a healthier and sick-free lifestyle. According to a study released Monday by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, certain habits could increase your life expectancy by a decade.
While you relish the idea of growing thoroughly old as well as in great health, below are five habits at weight loss that is highly recommended by scientists:
1. To eat a healthy diet
An unhealthy diet leads to one in five deaths. According to a study by researchers at the University of Washington and published in the journal Lancet, a poor diet can cause high blood pressure and diabetes, which are linked to eating the wrong foods. Try sticking to the right diet, rich in whole grains, fruit, nuts, and seeds.
2. Maintaining a healthy weight (body mass index between 18.5 and 24.9.)
Falling below or above your proper BMI isn’t safe. Underweight people, with BMI below average, are regarded as malnourished and are susceptible to decreased immune function, osteoporosis and fertility complications. On the other hand, people with high BMI or obesity are vulnerable to chronic health conditions, such as bone problems and asthma.
3. Avoiding excessive alcohol intake
4. Daily exercise for 30 minutes or more
Maintaining an exercise routine can keep you in a healthy mood. According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, physically inactive people are more likely to develop anxiety, coronary heart disease, depression, and cancer.

From the analysis of 34 years of data from more than 78,000 women and 27 years of data from more than 44,000 men, researchers estimated that women who adopted these five habits would see 14 more years of life, and men would add 12 years.
