Zendaya Mares Stoermer Coleman was born in Oakland California on September 1, 1996, making her a Virgo. She is of mixed ethnicity as her roots can be traced to African American & German – Scottish ethnic descent. The name ‘Zendaya’ is of African origin; Zimbabwe to be precise, and it’s meaning in Shona, Bantu language is ‘to give thanks’.
She started performing quite early at the California Shakespeare Theatre where her mum was working as the house manager.
