Miley Cyrus became a teen sensation in 2006 when she acted the character Miley Stewart in the Disney Channel TV Series, Hannah Montana. Her father Billy Ray Cyrus was also a part of the series which aired until 2011.
Before then, the American singer, songwriter and actress has featured in the TV series “Doc” and the movie “Big fish”.
Miley Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus, on November 23 1992, in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. Her parents believe that she would achieve great things hence her name. However Cyrus was always smiling like a child, therefore she was nicknamed Smiley which she later modified to Miley.
Moreover, the singer has always been popular for her hit songs and incredible acting talents but her parents and siblings have also been a big boost to her career.

When it comes to being part of a big family, Miley Cyrus can relate. She is one of the children born in Billy Ray’s famous, predominantly entertainment, family. The singer’s family is a modern-day Brady bunch and just a look at how they are related can make your head spin. Miley has five siblings, Trace Cyrus, Brandi Cyrus, Braison Cyrus, Noah Cyrus and a stepbrother named Christopher Cody Cyrus who has managed to stay out of the public eye.
Her father, Billy Ray is a country music singer. He was married to Cindy Smith from 1986 to 1991 without any children. Subsequently, he dated a waitress Kristin Luckey briefly, and she gave birth to Cody Christopher in April 1992. In November same year, his girlfriend Leticia Trish ( Leticia Jean Finley) gave birth to a daughter, Miley Cyrus.
However, Miley was not Trish’s first child, as she already had two children Brandi and Trace, whom She had with her former husband, Baxter Neal Helson.
Billy and Trish made their union official when they got married on December 2003, but the marriage hasn’t been all smooth sailing as some rancour has resulted in two divorce filings that were later dropped.
In the meantime, the couple seems to be going strong. Billy had adopted Brandi and Trace and Trish has credited herself with ‘taming’ her husband.
Siblings
Brother Braison Cyrus
Miley Cyrus and younger brother Braison Cyrus were born of the same parents. He is a folk singer and model and lives in Nashville. He performed his debut single titled “I’ll Never Leave You” on The Tonight Show in December 2018.
The 24-year-old also claims to be a part-time Cranberry farmer. Recently, he announced his engagement to his girlfriend Stella McBride via Instagram.
Her Sister Noah Cyrus
Noah Cyrus is consistently making a name for herself on the music scene. She has grown from being recognized as Miley’s little sister to a budding pop singer. She made her debut with the song “Make me (cry)” in 2005 and it was well-received and eventually peaked at number 46 on the billboard hot 100.
Moreso, she has added another song to her collections with the recent release of her EP, “the Good Cry.” She is close to Miley and other members of her family but says that comparisons between her family members can be quite frustrating.
Noah Cyrus is very open about her struggle with anxiety and depression for which she sees a therapist three times a week.
Half-sister Brandi Cyrus
Miley’s older sister Brandi Cyrus is a daughter from Trish former marriage with ex-husband Neal Helson. She made a cameo appearance in Hannah Montana, however, the 31-year-old is now a DJ and is a co-host of a popular podcast ‘My Favourite Thing” alongside former bachelorette, Well Adams. She also co-hosts the show, “Cyrus vs Cyrus: Design and Conquer” in collaboration with her Mum. She lives in Los Angeles, California.
Half brother Trace Cyrus
Trace also share the same mother with Miley and was born from their mother’s former marriage to Neal Helson. He achieved fame as a bassist for Metro station but currently plays for Ashland High band and dated one of the Disney Channel stars, Brenda Song, on and off for seven years. He is later got engaged to his girlfriend, Taylor Lauren Sanders.
Half brother Christopher Cody Cyrus
Christopher and Miley were born of the same father. He is the least-known of the Cyrus family and is receiving the least attention from his father according to an interview which he had with the “Mirror” in 2009.
In the interview, he reportedly admitted that he felt excluded from the family and he doesn’t often hear from Billy Ray.

Marriage with Liam Hemsworth
Miley Cyrus was married to an Australian actor and of one of the Hemsworth brothers, Liam Hemsworth but the on and off, decade-old, relationship with Hemsworth abruptly came to an end after he filed for divorce.
The divorce process has been finalized and emerging reports indicate that Cyrus had moved on, with non-other than Kaitlynn Carter, ex-wife of Caitlyn Jenner’s son, Brody Jenner. The duo was pictured kissing on a yacht in Italy, barely hours after the divorce was finalized.
Also, reality star Spencer Pratt of The Hills: New Beginnings, has revealed to the Cosmopolitan, that Carter and Cyrus had “a thing” between them, during the course of the filming of the show. It was also revealed that Carter and Cyrus moved in together.
Meanwhile, a source close to Hemsworth told USA weekly that Cyrus being “so open about her relationship with Carter, was what ultimately led him to file for divorce proceedings”. Miley Cyrus, via her Instagram page, has debunked the rumours, that infidelity was responsible for the end of her marriage with Hemsworth.
