Elizabeth Trump Grau – All You Need to Know About Donald Trump’s Sister

Even before President Donald Trump came to power as the 45th President of the United States, the Trump family have always been popular, thanks to their prominence in real estate business, the entertainment industry and their political interests. However, there has been a heightened interest in the activities of the family members ever since Donald Trump emerged President and Elizabeth Trump Grau, the older sister of  President Donald J. Trump is not left out of the spotlight.

While most people want power, prestige and position, Elizabeth Trump Grau prefers to stay under the radar, away from the spots lights. She chose the banking sector, instead of working in the family business which is perhaps why his brother Donald Trump described her in his book, The Art of the Deal, as ‘bright but less ambitious’.

Who is Elizabeth Trump Grau

Elizabeth was born in 1942 to Fred  Trump and Mary Anne Trump and is one out of the five children of the couple. Her father was a real estate mogul, who made his fortune by building houses for middle-income earners at the end of world war II. Her mother is a Scottish immigrant who was involved in Charity work during their years of affluence. Before then, she worked for several homes as a domestic worker. She died in the year 2000, barely one year after the death of her husband.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth was raised in the Jamaican estate neighborhood of Queens and attended an exclusive, co-educational private school – Key Forest school in Forest Hill. It was the same school that Donald Trump later attended. Upon her graduation, She got admitted into the Southern seminary college ( now known as Southern Virginia University)  where she obtained her bachelor’s degree.

Thereafter, she commenced her career in the bank, working with some banks and retiring as an executive at the Chase Manhattan Bank, New York.

Elizabeth Trump Grau tied the knot with her husband James Walter Grau on March 26, 1989, at the Marble Collegiate Church New York. James Grau is a graduate of Northwestern University Illinois and a film producer. He has a production company known as Charisma Productions. Donald Trump acted as an usher during the wedding ceremony while Elizabeth’s sister Mary Anne served as the maid of honour.  Their marriage which was contracted over two decades ago is still going strong till today.

Maryanne Trump Barry

Moreover, Elizabeth Trump Grau’s siblings are also notable personalities. Her oldest sibling, Elizabeth Trump Barry in 2019 retired as a Federal Appellant Judge. She was born in 1937 and is an Alumni of the Colombia University where she got a degree in Public Law in 1962. She also has a Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University School of law in 1974. She served in various capacities for various governments of America. From 1983 to 1999, she served as the District head for New Jersey during the administration of President Ronald Reagan. she was appointed the Judge for the third circuit of the United States Court of Appeal by President Bill Clinton in 1999, a position she held until 2011. She took an inactive position soon after her brother Donald Trump became President. However, her retirement ended with an investigation that sought to find out whether she broke the judicial code of conduct rules by getting involved in dubious tax schemes. These tax evasions were said to have greatly increased the fortunes of the Trump family.

Fred Trump Jr

Fred Trump Jr was the second child of the family. Born in 1938, he stayed briefly in the family business before he became a pilot. However, he had a drinking problem which made him quit flying. He tried his hands on commercial fishing without success and thereafter returned to his father’s house in Jamaica estate and began to work as a member of the maintenance crew. He died at the age of 43.

Donald John Trump

Donald Trump is the most popular and most successful of Elizabeth Trump Grau’s siblings. He showed high levels of business skills from an early age and grew his family business exponentially which made him become the President and chief executive officer of the Trump Organization in a short while.

He invested in potentially prime real estate businesses as well as organizing beauty pageants and building profitable hotel outfits. But none of his achievements can be equalled to becoming the U.S President after the defeat of Hillary Clinton at the November 2016 Presidential elections. Moreover, his sister Mary Anne who is especially close to Donald told the Press that ‘she knew as a child not to compete with Donald’.

Robert Trump

Next in the lineup is Robert Trump. Born in 1948, Robert was the youngest sibling of Elizabeth Trump Grau. He manages the family business and has reached the level of a top executive. He died on August 15, 2020, in NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Trump Grau is rarely seen in public except on a few occasions. In 2018, she hosted a Safari night in Mar-la-go, at a fundraising event for Young Adventurers charity group, based in Palm Beach, Florida.
