Ariana Grande’s parents Edward Butera and Joan Grande reportedly came together to watch their world-famous star daughter perform Tattooed Heart on stage on December 2, 2019. The singer also spent 2019 Thanksgiving with both her parents despite not being on speaking terms with her dad until 2018.
Even though the initial desire of her parents was to live together happily forever, things, happened that got them separated when she was eight years old, leaving her mostly in the care of her mother.
Grande, who grew her career first as an actress, then as a singer is one of America’s teen music sensations with chart-topping albums such as Dangerous woman (2016), Sweetener (2018) and Thank You, Next (2019). However, she has been at loggerhead with her father until recently, when they put their differences behind them.
Moreover, Ariana Grande’s parents were focal points in her decision to be a singer because they inspired her to sing and dance and also enrolled her in music classes when she was small. Both of her parents are however proud of her achievements as there is no question as to Ariana Grande’s popularity in music and pop culture today.

Ariana Grande’s father Edward Butera was born on September 20, 1958, to Anthony and Florence Butera and grew up in Maple wood New Jersey, and studied Graphic design in New York Institute of Technology.
After working for several design companies, Butera opted to open his own company in 1982 known as Ibi Designs Inc. The company grew and became well known as a top graphic design company.
Recall that the Thank you – Next singer has been open about her estrangement from her Dad since 2013 and even sang about it in the lyrics of the 2018 hit song “One day I’ll walk down the aisle, holding hands with my mama, I’ll be thanking my dad ’cause she grew from that drama.” In a 2014 interview she granted to Seventeen, the singer said ‘ “It’s private, but it happened last year,” she added, “It took me so long to be good with it … So much of me comes from my father, and for so long I didn’t like that about myself. I had to accept that it was good not to be with someone and still love them.“However, it is clear that both of them have been on the mend so far. In 2017, she sent shout out to him on Fathers day and then in 2018, she spent he first Thanksgiving in 18 years with both of her parents and posted it on her Insta stories “first Thanksgiving with both of my parents in 18 years” she captioned it. It was complete with a picture of face painting with her parents.
Moreover, Adriana Grande modified the lyrics of the ‘thank you, next’ song during her stage performance at the 2020 Grammy awards to “One day I’ll walk down the aisle, holding hands with my mama,” she sings, “I’ll be thanking my dad ’cause he is awesome.”
Mother Joan Grande
Adriana’s mother, Joan Grande has always had a good relationship with her daughter, who in turn, often expresses her appreciation to her publicly. Joan Grande was born on June 11, 1968, in New York to the family of Frank and Marjorie Grande. She met and fell in love with Victor Marchione and became pregnant for him at the age of 14, after which she gave birth to a baby boy Frankie. Eventually, she joined Hose- McCann Communications and became their CEO.
Meanwhile, Joan Grande was a single mother of one when she began to date Butera after meeting him in New York in the early 1990s. The duo were married In 1992 and moved to Florida where they welcomed their daughter, Adriana, in 1993.

However, Adriana Grande’s parents separated when she was eight years old. Even though she lived with her Mum, she still maintained a good relationship with her father up until 2013 when things went awry and they became estranged for reasons that were not made public. Nevertheless, they have now restored their friendship and are having fun as a family. Just like they did during the just concluded Grammy awards show held on January 26, 2020, at the Staples centre in Los Angeles, where Adriana took her parents as her date to the event.
Ariana Grande’s parents couldn’t be any happier as they flanked their daughter on both sides on the red carpet. Grande’s fans were not disappointed as the petite singer stood out in an enormous grey Giambattista Valli dress and of course, spotting her trademark ponytail. Her parents were on hand to help her arrange the cloth as they beamed at the photographers. The 7 rings singer later changed into another costume of the same grey colour palette.
Well, congratulations are in order to Ariana Grande’s parents as we look forward to more beautiful family moments together.
