One of the notable events that brought the Aurora-born beauty to limelight was her participation in the beauty pageantry; Miss Colorado Teen USA, 2012 edition. It is on record that Kristy was a bright student majoring in General Studies in College as at the time she enrolled for the competition. Although she did not emerge winner in the pageantry, she came a close second as runner-up behind fellow Aurora-born, Jacqueline Zuccherino who clinched the beauty crown. Kristy was so determined to claim the crown that she once revealed she will be willing to occupy Jacqueline’s position should she fail in her duties as queen, but this was not to be as fate took a different turn.

Kristy emergence as runner-up was a good kickstart to what would have been a very promising career in modeling, but for the unfortunate event that trailed her in 2013 and nosedived her career at its infancy.

Thus, a few months later when a video of Kristy Althaus indulging in amateur porn surfaced online, it did not come much as a surprise for most social commentators who considered it a norm, and of course, it went viral. The video clip where a teenage girl was seen sitting on a bed behind a cameraman who inquired her age and if it was her first time engaging in adult film? This earned her, her first major scandal. Also, social media went agog with fans caught in the web; as some could not come to terms with her involvement in such activities, others affirmed.
Meanwhile, following the whole speculation and wildfire pertaining her involvement in the porn video, the promoters of the beauty pageantry, Future Productions erased Kristy’s name and a video of her been presented the award for runner-up from the website. This came on the heels of co-owner of the production company; Craig Heitkamp’s silence on the removal of Kristy’s name from the pageant website. Craig’s silence was a statement perhaps, even though till date none of the parties has openly and officially addressed this issue. Aside from the fact that the former beauty queen had to deactivate her social media accounts, fell into depression for a while and came back stronger with the aid of her professional football player boyfriend, Derek Wolfe.
However, the controversial beauty queen will go-ahead to start a career in adult movies, starring in many others since her debut.
