Leyah Amore Harris

Leyah Amore Harris is the daughter of famous rapper T.I and his wife Tiny Harris. As was the stillbirth cases of celebrities like John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Christina Perri and many parents out there who have suffered great loss of their kids, that of Leyah Amore Harris was very heartbreaking for many reasons.

Below are things to know about T.I and Tiny’s daughter.

Leyah Amore Harris was T.I and Tiny’s First Daughter

If she was alive today, she would have been the first daughter of the Harris family. Also, Leyah Amore Harris would have been the second child of Clifford Joseph Harris Jnr and Tameka Cottle popularly known as T.I and Tiny in the American entertainment circle. Unfortunately, she died a few hours after her birth on 22nd March 2007.

This was so heartbreaking for the couple who welcomed their first child, King Harris on August 25, 2004. It is noteworthy to acknowledge that, despite the ugly incident that denied Leyah Amore Harris the right to live, the tale of her sudden death is well known. Although, she didn’t breathe beyond few hours of her existence, never opened her tiny eyes to see the world nor did she experience the joys of family and friends, her funeral was attended by a lot of people; her parents, siblings, relatives whom she never got the chance to know.

There were early Signs she may not live

In a tell it all interview, her mother, Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle once revealed that during one of her regular medical check-ups in 2006, when it was confirmed she was pregnant and carrying Leyah in her womb, doctors warned her of impending complications. To be precise, she was told the sacs held her baby and there was a possibility her baby could be tied up in her umbilical cord. Thus, it becomes sadder to think that, even before her birth, there were already signs that she may not live or survive the world.

It was so devastating for her parents who were presumed to have gone into depression upon her demise. Indeed the rumours were true as confirmed by Tiny in one of the interviews she granted, though, it was for a few days according to the singer who before Leyah had welcomed a daughter, Zonnique with her former boyfriend, Zonnie Pullins.

Her Parents are Celebrities

Clifford Joseph Harris Jnr and Tameka Cottle are celebrated icons in the American entertainment industry. While T.I is better known for his contributions to the growth of rap and is also an actor in Hollywood. Tiny is an accomplished singer, songwriter and TV personality. The couple began to date in 2001 and when things got so serious, they tied the nuptial knot nine years after on July 30, 2010.

So far, the Harris has three children, two boys and a girl namely; King Harris, born on August 24, 2004, Major Philant Harris born May 16, 2008, and Heiress Diana Harris born in March 2016. It is important to mention that over the years, T.I and Tiny’s relationship has not been the best any couple will wish for, as the union has been laced with controversies and setbacks. Even, in 2016, it was reported that Tiny had filed for a divorce, surrounding T.I’s philandering and several baby mama affairs. But the estranged couple seems to be getting things back on track as the father of 7 and mother of 4 have been pictured all-smiles together, afterwards.

Leyah Amore Harris would have had a large Family

Beside their multiple contributions and giant strides in the  American entertainment sector, the Harris are known for their grand family photos. T.I and Tiny have a large family of seven children. In this large and beautiful family photo album would have been Leyah Amore Harris, whom the couple and siblings miss every day of their lives.

It is a known fact that amongst these seven kids, together, T.I and Tiny are parents to just three which are; Clifford “King” Joseph Harris II, Major Philant Harris and  Heiress Diana Harris. Others include; Zonnique Jailee Pullins, Tiny’s 24-years-old daughter from her previous relationship with Zonnie Pullins, Messiah Ya’Majesty Harris and Domani Uriah Harris, who are 20-years-old and 19-years-old respectively, born from T.I’s previous relationship with Lashon Dixon and finally, 19-years-old Deyjah Imani Harris, daughter from a relationship with R&B singer Ms Niko.

Tameka Remembers Leyah Amore till this day

While the pain of losing one’s child is too much to bear, the memories of the incident is worse. Till date, that is, 13 years after, Tameka recalls every bit of what transpired that uneventful day. She reveals that she had gone into the ward to deliver her baby girl only to leave without the little Angel she had nurtured and carried in her womb six months as against the accustomed 9 months. This was because the baby was a stillborn and efforts to birth her to live proved abortive as cautioned by doctors.

Tiny recounted how difficult it was for her to accept the reality that, she had indeed, lost a child. It was so crushing that several hours later, she still held on to Leyah’s belongings at the hospital, roses and photographs from the burial and whatever little memories of her (Leyah)  she could cling to at that moment. Leyah’s cold body was wrapped in a little basket around a blanket, because, her heartbroken mother never wanted to let her daughter go away from her, but sadly destiny had other plans. It was indeed, a sad time and dark chapter, for the family.
