Born in the closing month of the year, December 10th, 1996, Joe Burrow became interested in sports at quite a young age. The 24-year old was born into a sports family. His paternal grandfather had played basketball for the Mississippi State, his uncle, John Burrow played football at Ole Miss, his father, Jim Burrow was a former Defensive back, who played in the National Football League and Canadian Football League in his career days. He is also famous for his long stint as a college football coach from 1981 until his retirement in the 2018 season as a defensive coordinator for the Ohio Bobcats. Most notably, his brief spell with the team of his alma mater at the University of Nebraska, between 2001-2002, where his sons, Dan and Jamie Burrow, also played college football.

Although, not much is known of his mother, Robin Burrow, except that she is an elementary school principal. Asides that, she, together with her husband, Jim became regulars in Joe’s games while at LSU. Perhaps, just like her husband, she is supportive of her son’s career choice

It will be reckoned that Joe Burrow’s career as a professional football player began with the Cincinnati’s Bengals after he was selected in the first overall, but it is pertinent to note that he had carried the dream in his backpack all along. At age six, he accompanied his dad who was an assistant coach at Nebraska to the Rose Bowl and very soon, began playing in youth football leagues. Later, when his family relocated to Ohio, he will lead the school to three straight playoff appearances, and an eventual victory in seven playoffs in the school history.

Also, Burrow won the Mr Football Award and was named Gatorade Player of the award in 2014. As a result of his impactful contributions and commitment to the school’s sporting glories, in 2019, the school board decided to honour him by naming their stadium after him.

After completion of a degree in Consumer and Family Financial Services at Ohio State University, in May 2018, Joe Burrow transferred to Louisiana State University (LSU) to further his college education and while there, he began his college career. While at LSU, he became a starter for the school’s team, Tigers and would go on to win the CFP National Champion, Heisman Trophy, AP College Football Player of the Year, Sporting News College Football Player of the Year, Maxwell Award, Walter Camp Award, Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, Davey O’Brien Award, Manning Award, Lombardi Award, Unanimous All-American, Mr. Football Award, named Camp National Offensive Player of the Week, Three-time SEC Player of the Week, Top-ten win, broke the LSU record for career 300-yard games, all in 2019.

Joe Burrow’s girlfriend is Olivia Holzmacher and the two have gone public about their relationship. The young couple met in 2017 when Joe attended Ohio State University. He had also shared her goodwill message in a virtual post he made on social media, prior to his NFL Draft. It is revealed that the couple have been dating for the past two years and so far, there are no controversial issues surrounding the lovebirds who are spotted all lovey-dovey in mostly Olivia’s posts on Instagram.
