David Lemanowicz was born in Vancouver, Canada on March 8, 1976, to polish parents. He holds American and Canadian citizenship and is a successful hockey player and military man. His parents were originally from Poland but migrated to Canada in pursuit of a better life. He is happily married to actress Jill Wagner and the couple is expecting their second child together as of 2021.
Wagner is an American actress and show presenter who is best known as the host for the ABC game show Wipeout from 2008 to 2014. She has also been cast in some hallmark movies including Mystery 101, Hearts of Winter, The Angel Tree, and Maggie’s Christmas miracle.
David Lemanowicz’s dual career
Lemanowicz excelled in two careers; Ice Hockey and the military. He began to play Hockey at age 19 after graduating from high school. He began to play with the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey league in 1995 and was placed in the 218 positions overall during the NHL Entry Draft. He is also was the first All-star Goaltender in Spokane Chiefs history.
Lemanowicz helped his team to qualify for the Western Hockey League Championship series after which he joined the American Hockey League where he played for Florida’s Farm club.
Furthermore, he played for three pro seasons, before quitting to attend college. He then enrolled at the University of Toronto where he obtained a degree in International Relations. He played for the Varsity team for two years while in college and later became a coach.
After graduation, he played for teams like Austin Ice Bats, University of Toronto, and others before becoming an assistant coach for the Rio Grande Killer bees in 2008.
In 2009, he left to pursue a military career, which has been his passion for a long time. He is in the US Army Reserve and has completed his master’s degree program at the University of Texas-Pan American. He also completed his degree in global security through the ROTC program.
David Lemanowicz and Jill Wagner have an interesting love story
David Lemanowicz and Jill Wagner’s love story is like something straight from the movies. It is so interesting that Hallmark already has plans towards making it into a movie.
The couple met for the first time when Wagner was 17 and Lemanowicz, 20. He was a hockey player at that time and Wagner was so much in love with him that she used to sneak out her window just to see him at night.
After about three meetings, Lemanowicz suddenly went away, leaving a heartbroken Wagner to move on with her life. They met again years later in Afghanistan. Jill Wagner had become an actress at that time, and was part of the group of celebrities that visited the country to give the soldiers “moral support”.
However, both of them were with someone else at that time (Lemanowicz was married and Wagner had a boyfriend) and therefore did not pursue any romantic involvement.
But fate brought them together for the third time in April 2016, when they bumped into each other at a restaurant in Los Angeles. But it was a different scenario this time around because both of them were then single. David Lemanowicz had ended his marriage with his first wife and was visiting his daughter while Jill Wagner had broken up with her boyfriend precisely on Valentine’s Day. She was filming Christmas Cookies in Los Angeles and her girlfriends had taken her out to dinner when she bumped into him.
They rekindled their love and dated briefly before getting engaged in 2016. The couple tied the knot in April 2017 and was blessed with a lovely daughter Army Gray, on April 17, 2020.
Meanwhile, the couple is expecting another daughter due in August 2021. Jill Wagner broke the exciting news on her Instagram and her statement reads “I couldn’t be happier to announce to you all that I’m going to have another baby! (Yes, I know I just had one)”. She added, “God has blessed David and me with another bundle of joy and we are overwhelmed with love”.

David Lemanowicz’s first wife and daughter
David Lemanowicz and his ex-wife Gina met at the University of Toronto and began to date. They tied the knot in 2005 and had a daughter, Lija in 2010. Gina was a US citizen and she helped Lemanowicz to get his US citizenship. However, things later went south and their marriage ended.

Lemanowicz and his family moved from Los Angeles to a farm where they live with their pets. The veteran is a dog lover as can be seen in some of his photos.

According to an interview with Moments of Mercy, Jill Wagner’s favorite past times is when she and her husband get on their John Deere tractor and drive up to the hill to share a bottle of wine and watch the sunset.
