Cristiano Ronaldo’s Biography

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born on February 5, 1985, in São Pedro, Funchal, Portugal. He grew up in Santo António, Funchal as the youngest child of Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro and José Dinis Aveiro (1953–2005). His father was a municipal gardener and a part-time kit man while his mother a cook who raised him among three older siblings Hugo, Elma and Liliana Cátia.

From an impoverished background to one of the most marketable and highest-paid athletes in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo has been the world’s most famous for three straight years (2016,2017 and 2018). He quit his education to focus entirely on football at the age of 14.

While he aimed to become a full-time pro, Ronaldo was diagnosed with a racing heart and underwent surgery to cauterise his multiple cardiac pathways into one. He left the hospitals hours after the procedure and waited a few days to resume football training.

Today, no football player in the world has attracted more plaudit for his physical qualities than Cristiano Ronaldo. Which piques our curiosity to what kind of diet keeps him fit and ready to deliver his best performance.

Cristiano Ronaldo Diet

Like most famous athleteseating the right food makes a lot of difference in their field performances. Just as a nice car needs the right gas, our body requires a proper diet to function efficiently and athletes like Cristiano Ronaldo understands that.

Healthy eating is an important way of life for Ronaldo. According to him, a good workout must be combined with a good diet.

Ronaldo’s diet is made of a high protein with lots of wholegrain carbs, fruit and vegetables – without “sugary foods.” In one of his interviews, he said that people who train regularly, need to keep their energy levels high in order to fuel their body for better performance.  He revealed that he “sometimes eat up to six smaller meals a day to make sure” he has “enough energy to perform each session at a top level.”

As hard as it might seem, the Portuguese player had revealed he doesn’t drink alcohol and he wouldn’t be the first famous person to live by that principle. For him, drinking water is very important.

More than anyone, Ronaldo knows his body too well and thoroughly educated on how it works and we take a cue. He not only trains his body but also his mind. “Mental strength is as important as physical strength to help you achieve your goal,” he said.

One of his favorite dishes is Bacalhau à Brás, a mixture of cod, sliced potatoes, onions, and scrambled eggs. From photos he shared on Instagram, he likes steaks with salad.

Workout

Call him a workout freak, that’s okay but at least he’s still winning games. His mantra and key to success is to be disciplined, motivated and sticking to a routine. For Cristiano Ronaldo, there is no room for ease off and strictness is the way to go.

Besides participating in football trains and matches, Ronaldo indulges in extra workouts in order to achieve his fat-free physique.  His exercise routine includes 30 minutes of running sessions, high intensity sprinting/technical drills to improve his ball control and his gym training is to focus on specific muscles.

As far as his career is concerned, training and physical sessions are most important.

However, the soccer champ believes in living a living a relaxed lifestyle to be the best, both physically and mentally. He said his free time is meant for his family and friends, to help him relax and maintain a positive mindset.

According to Forbes, his lifetime Nike contract is worth upward of $1 billion and as of July 2018, he already made $108 million with his transfer to Juventus that month. He became the world’s highest-paid athlete in 2018, with $61 million in salary and winnings.

Besides Nike, his other endorsement deals are American Tourister, Herbalife and EA Sports. He commands more than 320 million followers on social media and of course, we know how the world celebrates a champion.
