In December 2021, federal agents carried out a raid on the Beverly Hill home of Brooke Brinson and her husband, Thayer Wiederhorn and took away some phones, digital storage, tax documents, and other documents according to Radar Online.
The raid came on the heels of an on-going investigation into suspected money-laundering by the Wiederhorn, as well as millions of dollars in sham loans taken by the franchise. The family was also accused of spending this money on luxury purchases as documents show a $183k payment at a London Jeweler, $100k to a divorce attorney and $150k on a down payment for a Rolls-Royce.
However, Andrew Wiederhorn’s lawyer says that his client denies any wrongdoing and that they will prove that the government has got its facts wrong.
Brooke Brinson was not cited in the investigation, rather it was her father-in-law and her husband who were implicated in the scandal. Although she was not mentioned in the court documents, her long-time relationship with Thayer Wiederhorn could make her answer some questions regarding the probe.
